A recent Apple patent application, newly published by the US Patent and Trademark Office, could allow screens to more readily toggle between touch and simple display modes. Titled Integrated Touch Sensitive Display Gate Driver, the filing depicts a particular circuit design that might offer several advantages for devices. Temporarily disabling touch could save power for example, or reduce the likelihood of mistakes in touch gestures.
