Acer pioneer Stan Shih today at a Taiwan government forum said that he doesn't expect tablets to replace any kind of notebook. The devices are designed to fulfill a "specific niche" where notebooks cover many roles, he explained. Digitimes added that Shih also didn't see tablets as a zero sum game where one had to lose for the other to succeed, as the notebook market was still growing even with tablets on the market.
