A new line of mobile multimedia apps for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad have been launched by Encyclopaedia Britannica. The three applications, Volcanoes, Dinosaurs, and Ancient Egypt, are focused towards middle grade students, combining a mixture of information and age-appropriate games. Within each app, users will find overview articles from Britannica editors, as well as maps, puzzles, photos, videos, narrated slideshows, and quizzes.
