Telus today claimed an edge in all of North America today as it said it would be the first carrier on the continent to support the maximum 42Mbps speed of HSPA+ on its 3G network. Support for HSPA+ Dual Cell literally doubles the peak speeds of the technology by combining two virtual carriers and will give a much more 4G-like experience. As current HSPA+ can deliver roughly 7Mbps actual speeds, Dual Cell could translate to 14Mbps in real conditions.
