Fujifilm took its turn at pre-Photokina unveilings with new cameras highlighted by two high-end models. The FinePix F300EXR is one of the first cameras to use a second-generation EXR sensor that adds phase detection into the sensor itself; it can use phase detection autofocus to capture bright subjects but switch to contrast autofocus in the dark; it can lock in as quickly as 0.16 seconds. A gyroscopic sensor also improves the practical sensitivity as it can better compensate for sudden or dramatic movements and lower the ISO needed to get a stable shot.
