RIM is expecting a sharp increase in the number of phones it will ship in the year ahead, industry insiders said on Friday. Part suppliers in Taiwan have reportedly been told to expect between 60 million to 70 million BlackBerries to ship in the next 12 months. The part suppliers expect a lot of the boost will come from BlackBerry OS 6 and a renewed interest in BlackBerry phones as a result.
