Only existing O2 customers will be able to buy the iPhone 4 in the immediate future, the UK carrier has announced. In a surprise move, O2 says it is barring new iPhone 4 subscribers from today through July 31st. Before August 1st, buyers will have to already have phone service with O2, or be a broadband customer looking to get their first O2 handset. The cutoff point for status as a prior customer is May 24th.
