NVIDIA in its latest results call said its newer Tegra chip should provide for major competitors to the iPad. CEO Jen-Hsun Huang acknowledged that the "bar is pretty high" with iPad and the upcoming iPhone but that the dual-core Tegra is not only able to keep up but may be "much better" depending on how it's implemented. Visual performance is very important for high-resolution displays like the 1024x768 or larger screens reaching newer tablets.
