Channel D has announced the release of a new audio plug-in for iTunes. Pure Music takes advantage of familiar iTunes functions such as track selection and music library navigation, but plays audio files through its own audio engine. Unlike iTunes, which will play all audio tracks at the sample rate detected upon launch, the Pure Music engine is claimed to play high-resolution audio files at their native sample rate.
