Intel's Sandy Bridge architecture should be much more efficient even for desktops, a slew of newly uncovered documentation shows. The design will merge the graphics from their place simply on the same package to within the processor itself. Making the switch should speed up graphics without affecting the chip's footprint, although it will need a different socket.
