MacForensicsLab has updated its computer forensics suite, releasing MacForensicsLab 3.0. The cross-platform suite aids investigators in finding and recovering deleted, embedded and corrupted files. It is claimed to produce fault-tolerant and verifiable acquisitions. Keyword analysis and cataloging is performed in multiple languages. The software searches MD5, SHA-1, and SHA-256 checksum calculations, allowing the user to search for items of interest across devices, within folders of files, and directly inside specific files.
