Over 1 million downloads of Opera Mini for the iPhone were made on the first day of the app's availability alone, says Opera. Although the browser has since slipped in markets like Canada, Opera also notes that at one point it dominated the free category of 22 major App Stores, including the US, the UK, France and Germany. The current download count is unknown.
