Asus wants to become another Apple

Asustek has a double life. On one side, this company plays the sub contractor for large computer manufacturers, and on the other side, it sells its own products and even takes the role of a more innovating manufacturer of PCs with for example its EEE-PC which were an immense success and created a market. Jonney Shih, the owner of Asustek has big ideas for his group. He wants to create (so he says) another Apple. To get at this result, it intends to diversify to the maximum the products that its company offers by supplementing its Wintel products (Windows + Intel) with products containing ARM processors and using Android and Chrome OS. For him, these processors and systems will be impossible to circumvent in the future and he does not intend to miss the bus. He imagines, always with the image of Apple in mind to release products that will be killer products. The future will tell us if the company will succeed with this bet.
