Given widespread complaints at AT&T coverage, US iPhone-lovers are likely to wake up in denial this morning as it looks increasingly likely the network has retained its exclusive hold on the iPhone for at least another year.We don’t want to shoot the messenger, but at least one analyst this morning issued a stock downgrade against most likely alternative iPhone suitor, Verizon Wireless, expressing his belief that the latter carrier won’t be getting ‘i’ among its phones this year.
All this according to Credit Suisse analyst, Jonathan Chaplin. He doesn’t believe AT&T will lose its grip this year, predicting it could last well into 2011. He believes the carrier will use this time to address its network problems, to the extent customers may even forget
