SSD Market: Toward Two Distinct Model Classes
Yesterday we were reporting about the tendency of the SSD market to evolve into a dual class system: entry-level SSD offering limited storage space, and premium models featuring performance and storage space. This tendency is now confirmed with 2 new models.
On one side, OCZ with its Solid 2 Series:
It offers 30 GB storage space for 100 Euro, and 170 MB/s in reading and 70 MB/s in writing.
On the other side, the new Kingston SSDNow V+.
It reads data at 230 MB/s and can write on the SSD at 180 MB/s, but most importantly, it offers 512 GB of storage space. of course such capacity has a price: 1,200 EUro.
