Its executives fear that the iSlate might strongly compete with their Kindle, a basic device offering maybe for the first time a true Digital Text Platform.On this market, the device is important but associated contents might be even more: quantity, volumes, quality and compatibility. This if probably why Amazon has released in emergency an update of the percentage royalty option for its Kindle, aiming to attract as much as possible authors and publishers to its platform. They could now get up to 70% royalty, exactly the same percentage offers by Apple to authors on the iTunes store for music, and most likely for contents on the forthcoming iSlate-dedicated content.
