Apple, Google’s Trillion dollar battle
If you’ve been wondering what Apple, Google, RIM, Nokia and the smaller players in mobile are fighting over in the mobile (and, increasingly, mobile ads) space, then here’s something to chew on. Informa Telecom & Media forecasts total mobile service revenues will exceed $1 trillion in 2013, despite a projected fall in voice revenues.
Data is the big growth driver, the reputable firm of analysts tell us, saying, “Growth in service revenues will be driven by data revenues rising to over $330 billion that year, up from an estimated $208 billion in 2008.”
