In order to put itself in conformity with the judgement in favour of i4i on the violation of its XML patent, Microsoft has withdraw Office in the United States. The software will be replaced quickly with a new expurgée version of the code violating this patent.Updates have been offered for PC versions of office already sold to put them in conformity. It will be probable that the Mac version also containing this litigious code although the litigation was targeted on the Windows versions, representing the main part of the sales. Microsoft certainly does not want to have a new lawsuit for Mac version of office.
