Canon today launched a new version of its DSLR-based EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM telephoto zoom lens, alongside CES-related announcements of new PowerShot cameras. The lens is considered a staple by most professional photographers, and features a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, ultrasonic autofocus and is weather and dust resistant. The new version replaces the original IS version of the lens, with Canon's next generation optical image stabilizer, promising four stops of camera-shake correction -- the original promised only three stops.
