Apple’s iTunes team has been fastidiously pushing users toward Facebook, where iTunes-dedicated pages offering access to offers and various free downloads are available; as such we felt some readers may benefit from a phishing scam warning which crossed our desks this morning.
Today’s phish finger comes from online identity specialist, Garlik, who is warning Facebook users of a phishing scam on the social network which offers users a `free' £25 iTunes gift voucher.
Andy Thomas, the firm's commercial director, says that over 460 000 Facebook users appear to have responded to the emails, which apparently exhort users to send in their name and email address to a group administrator. He warns that the cost of this could exceed £12 million, meaning many users won
