Via announced the availability of the USB 3.O-dedicated chips, VL810.
This is a controller able to manage a USB 3.0 hub with one input and 4 outputs, backward compatible to USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. The chips is reported to be a low power component and could be integrated directly on motherboards. A small sentences in the PR catch our attention:
