Friendly competition or a battle between two former allies? Google has proved pre-Christmas rumours as fact, and set January 5 as a special event, presumably for the “Google phone”, an Android-powered device to be assembled by HTC and made available through T-Mobile.
T-Mobile has published a note explaining the network will offer service support, including billing, coverage, features and rate plans for the Nexus One, while in a separate announcement Google has pegged January 5 as a special corporate event at its global headquarters.
