Apple has rapidly become the gatekeeper for success in the games market, according to games developers speaking during a DiscoveryBeat event in San Frnacisco.
Not bad for a company that maybe three short years ago was characterised as having little footprint in the games market.
Backflip Studios chief executive, Julian Farrior, stressed the point: “A great product and a great relationship with Apple is really the killer combination - so find someone who works at Apple, a cousin or someone.”
His point was echoed by three representatives from major game makers who, “while they highlighted alternative channels of distribution - stressed Apple’s central role in determining which apps live or die,”
