Couple of days ago, we reported how 4,000 iPhone have been stolen in belgium. Polices lost tracks of those units. According to Touchmyapps, those units are currently being activated/used in russia. They are sold to local distributors by pack of 100 units. Customers might nevertheless have a bad surprise if they are not aware where those devices are coming from. If they can directly be used when unpacked as they are SIM-unlocked, any attempt to log on Apple servers (iTunes store or AppStores) will send clear information, as all serial numbers of stolen iPhones are known, to Apple and Interpol. The latest are apparently asking russian carriers to block access to networks for all stolen iPhones, tagged by their IMEI.
