A recent study conducted by AdMob indicates that iPhones capture 50% of the worldwide 3G network bandwidth. In addition, this figure keeps growing as it increased by 7 points during he last month. Other mobile phone OS are far behind, Symbian collecting 25% (-4% for the last month) and Android 11% (+1% for the last month). If one looks at RAIM Blackberry OS and Windows Mobile they respectively obtain 7% and 3% respectively.If those figures illustrate the usage associated with the OS (and not necessarily the number of units being used), it demonstrates that the iPhone is definitely the true communicating mobile handheld device expected by most users. Its online services, AppStore and iTunes Store as well as all iPhone-dedicated services developed by third-parties are further increasing the bandwidth usage too.
