Anecdotes suggest it went offline shortly before 3:45PM Eastern on Friday, and as of 4:40PM the store is still inactive, only displaying a notice about updating content. The Apple Store frequently goes down shortly before a new product release; nothing is expected today however, as the company typically puts products on sale in the morning, and usually early or in the middle of the week.
