CNET reports that the Intel/Apple Lightpeek demonstration that they showed on a hefty Hackintosh last week isn't as far off as originally anticipated. Speaking to Taiwanese optical networking company, Foci Fiber Optic Communication, they found that Light Peak cables and other fiber-optic components are right around the corner.
"We plan to have our pilot run ready by the end of November 2009, and ready to be in mass production in the beginning of year 2010," said Janpu Hou, the company's vice president of business development.
