Apple Almost Buys the Entire Worldwide Production of Flash Memory Modules

According to Digitimes, it is today almost impossible to purchase flash memory modules from the main manufacturers (Samsung, Micron, Toshiba, Hynix). Apple is buying the entire production to feed the manufacturing of its new iPod Touch and nano models as well as the iPhone.AS a consequence, if Apple managed to negotiate a good price thank to the large volumes purchased, the cost of flash memory modules jumped by 0.5 to 4% depending on their capacity.
