Toshiba unveiled new series of 2.5" HDs with storage capacity toping at 640 GB, based on 2 discs of 320 GB each.
The rotation speed will be set to 5400 rpm, and all drives will offer 8 MB of cache in a 9.5 mm enclosure compatible with all SATA-based Apple MacBook models. If they might be slightly slower than products from competitors spinning at 7200 rpm, Toshiba models are known for being almost silent and release almost no heat.
