According to Jen-Hsun Huang, NVidia CEO, GPGPU is the future. He expects his company to deliver by 2015 GPU that could be up to 570x faster than the current flagship we know. According to its data, CPU performance should only triple in the meantime. So, according to NVidia, the future of computing would be a GPU associated to a CPU for some basic functions.
Of course, we would have been surprise to ear a different message from NVidia, and as usual we will wait and see how such predictions/pretentious statements will translated in 5-6 years. For sure, this is typically the type of comments expected to convince investors to keep supporting the company in this difficult economic environment.
