Hitachi GST is now shipping its first 2TB, 7200 RPM desktop hard drive. The fourth-generation Deskstar 7K2000 uses the company's proprietary five-platter design with relaxed bit density and perpendicular magnetic recording technology. The company is also refreshing it's K1000.C Deskstar line, with capacities ranging from 160GB to 1TB.
