Despite his wish to keep its position at the Apple Board of Directors, Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, officially resigned. It comes at the same time than the on-going investigation against Apple based on monopoly claims. Indeed, deep interaction of Apple and Google while the latest announced its goal to release its own OS within couple of months. All those factors might have made it impossible to justify Eric Schmidt's position among Apple Board of Directors, giving him knowledge and access to future products and strategies.
