Without much surprise, Intel decided to appeal on the recent decision from the European Commission to fine 1.4 billion USD for abuse of a dominant position and anti-trust violation for computer CPUs over the past decades. So the legal action will still last for couple additional months. This is a expected move, but so far no company won against the EC in such legal battle. The reason being that the EC initiates such action only when there is no risk of defeat.Intel already provisioned this value of this record fine on its profits, and consequently had to publish recently negative financial results (- 400 millions USD).
