Last February, we reported that following a request by the European Union, the makers of mobile telephones will have to propose a way of using a universal charging port with their devices. The mini USB port was proposed to be the solution. Today, the French financial newspaper "Les Echos" reports that Apple agreed (well did not have much choice as the EC would have most likely initiated a legal procedure). So, in 2010, iPhone models should feature a mini USB port in addition or replacement (unlikely) of the already existing iPod/iPhone port.
