First "Cheap" SSDs?
If we often talk about SSD and their impressive performance levels, prices of such storage units usually remain outrageously expensive, and restricted to a small number of users. Kingston announced new products, aiming to become the first customer/mass market-oriented SSD models, and named them SSDNow V "Value".
All drives are available in 2.5" SATA format, featuring either 64 or 128 GB. According to the company, reading and wiring speeds are respectively 100 MB/s and 80 MB/s. The price will be 149 USD for the 64 GB model and 263 USD for the 128 GB unit. They will be available in two different packaging, notebook or desktop, for the same price.
