Apple announces that Snow Leopard will ship in September at an upgrade price of $29 for Intel-based Macs only, with Exchange integration, a new QuickTime and a Finder code rewrite. Snow Leopard Server is due at the same time at $499 for an unlimited-client version. Safari 4 exits beta today. The 13-inch aluminum MacBook moves to the MacBook Pro family at $1199 with FireWire 800 and an integrated (non-replaceable) battery. The 15-inch MacBook Pro gets the same battery and the same SD memory card slot, losing the ExpressCard slot (which is retained in the 17-inch model.) The new iPhone 3G S gets a 3Mp camera, auto-focus and video capture, along with a compass, voice control, encryption and remote wipe. The current iPhone 3G drops to $99 with the new model at $199 for 16 GB ($299 for 32 GB) - unless you're already an ATT customer upgrading a previous iPhone, which will cost you an extra $400 for the 3G S model.
