Long-standing rumors of a cheaper iPhone could see the persistence of the 8GB iPhone 3G, argues RBC Capital Markets analyst Mike Abramsky. Serving as an alternative to a new mainline iPhone, the 3G would retain the same specifications, but drop $100 in price to $99. The move could spur iPhone sales by as much as 30 to 40 percent, Abramsky suggests, adding 5 million units in FY09, and 22 million
