The company JMicron is currently offering a controller dedicated to entry-level SSD. Its low price makes it the best solution, however its lack of support for cache memory strongly affects overall performance when dealing with numerous simultaneous tasks, especially with MLC chips in writing mode. According to Dailytech, JMicron might offer in a near future a new controller, known as JMF612. Unlike the current JMF602, it will support up to 256 MB of DDR or DDR2 cache memory.
