Due to its problem to supply the high requested volumes for its Radeon HD 4770, ATI/AMD unveiled a new mid-range graphic car model, aka Radeon HD 4730.
Unlike the Radeon HD 4770, the GPU of this card is still being engraved at 55 nm, but the DDR3 256 bits VRAM is replaced by the DDR5 128 bits. The clock frequency will be 50 MHz lower than the HD 4770. One will have to wait for the first test to conclude the real value of this card, and if its aggressive price (less than 100 USD) can compete with NVidia models but also potentially with the HD 4770. According to specification and first results, it should provide performance levels similar to the Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT. We suspect that such card should be directly functional in our Mac Pro via the extension set we
