Up to now, there were only tow ways to purchase officially a graphic card compatible with our Mac: either from the Apple Store, or directly from ATI/AMD online store. Following the future availability of the GeForce GTX 285 in June, we were reporting that the distribution channel for NVidia cards will evolve. NVidia selected partners for different parts of the world to be responsible for manufacturing/supplying Mac Edition cards. It includes the Pro-oriented card Quadro FX4800.
On its website, OWC announces that the new Quadro FX 4800 Mac Edition is from PNY and available within 6 days at a ridiculous price of 1799 USD.
