French Lawmakers Adopt Bill to Fight against Internet Piracy
Without further commenting about this law, the French lawmakers adopted the bill, known as Hadopi, designed to fight against internet piracy, by turning into pirates almost all internet users. While the bill is not a law yet, as it has to get the green light from the constitutional council, the main question today is : how will this future law be applied in a real world? Will we also experience mistakes reported by similar procedures launched by the RIAA in USA? How will the French government react to the on-going decision discussed and already voted once by the European parliament, making it illegal to cut internet access to any European citizen unless it is motivated by documented legal requests, and not simply because it has been used to download a music album? Indeed, EU laws have to be translated into local laws by all EU countries.
