The iPod touch had a strong month outpacing its iPhone cousin in "marketshare gains according to NetApplications after being relatively flat since the holidays. It isn't certain what caused the spike but the iPod touch’s share in April jumped to 0.15%, a 36% increase.
The iPhone "only" gained 12% for the month coming in at .55%. That means the current total for touch devices from Apple are .7%, close to where Linux was a few months ago.
Linux and Google's Android were also big gainers, with Linux breaking the 1% barrier for the first time in history. Google's Android, which is technically a flavor of Linux, also showed solid growth, especially since it is only on one phone,
