CNET published a study looking at the evolution of salaries among developers depending if they work on Mac OS, Windows or Linux in New York City.
If one can clearly see that Mac developers have been for years paid less than their colleagues working on Linux and Windows, the development and success of Mac hardware and products have made their life brighter. They can now even pretend to higher salaries, and the economic crisis stabilized it over the past 6 months. One should also mention that there are not as many Mac OS teaching centers and formations than for Windows. For decades, some engineers have only seen/worked/developed/thought Windows, with entire universities associated to Redmond's giant to a unique vision for IT, GUI or visions.
