The eleventh annual Independent Games Festival, held in conjunction with the Game Developers Conference 2009 in San Francisco, has focused new attention on the iPhone as the platform of choice for independent game developers in a series of mobile awards announced yesterday, with the majority of finalists and nearly all winners in each category being awarded to App Store titles for the iPhone and iPod touch.
