Don't disregard that eerie feeling of déjà vu -- you're right on track, Sherlock. Around three years ago, Apple decided to nix its aging CRT-based eMac while introducing a lower-end 17-inch iMac to fill the void. Today, we're staring a March 2009 education newsletter in the face with an awfully similar message, save for the fact that there's no eMac-like line to bury. At any rate, the clipping clearly states that a new 17-inch iMac should be available starting at $899, and while no 17-incher appears on Apple's EDU site today (there's just a single 20-inch model along with three 24-inch configurations), we wouldn't be shocked to see it creep in there shortly.
