iPhone in France: Orange Will Appeal the Legal Decision

As expected Orange will appeal the anti-monopoly council's decision released earlier today. The French carriers unveiled some figures regarding the number of iPhones sold in France: 150,000 units of iPhone 1G and 450,000 units of iPhone 3G. In other words 600,000 units corresponding to almost as many new customers for Orange, so by doing the associated math one will understand why the French carrier will appeal, the iPhone is a substantial financial deal. In addition, details have been released regarding the exclusive partnership originally linking Apple and Orange. Orange signed it up for 5 years, starting from november 2007 till November 2012. The two other main French carrier, SFR and Bouygues already announced that their iPhone-based offers will be released and available to customers within couple of hours.
