Apple has released ProRes QuickTime Decoder 1.0 for Mac and Windows, in addition to an update for Final Cut Express 4.0.1. The decoder allows ProRes files to be played through QuickTime. Apple's ProRes "visually lossless" format was developed last year to be used in high definition footage post production.
