During Apple's iPhone SDK demonstration, AOL announced AIM for the iPhone. It allows multiple concurrent chats on the phone, but does not include support for video or audio, of course.
It is strange that this software will be announced prior to a potential iChat. Apple is witholding, perhaps, for a 3G-enabled iPhone capable of supporting video. Perhaps.
