Apple has joined the First Movers Coalition, an initiative by the U.S. government and the World Economic Government to help improve the environment by buying low-carbon products and reforming their supply chains.Formally launching at COP26 on November 4, the First Movers Coalition is a partnership between the World Economic Forum and the US Office of the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry. The goal of the initiative is to meet climate goals, by reducing carbon emissions and being more environmentally minded.Part of the effort has a group of companies committing to buying low-carbon products by 2030, with the initial focus being on the shipping, aviation, steel, and trucking sectors, which are deemed "hard to abate" by the WEF.
