iHome's new iPL22 ($70) is about as stripped down as the company's clock radios come these days. Instead of wireless streaming, it connects to iPhones and iPods using a Lightning plug that blocks cases. In front of that is an array of buttons for setting the alarm, controlling the volume, and more. The speaker is taller than it is wide, and while it must be plugged in, there's a coin-cell battery included for emergency backup power.
